The purpose of becoming “Christian” is to declare that we want to be “like Christ” it is not to declare that we are going to make Christ like us. God forbid.
Yet, this is how we think. How we speak. How we behave. It makes us feel better about who we are. That’s ego.
The problem is that every exaltation of ego is frowned upon by God, to say the least.
He did not send Christ to die for your ego or mine. He sent Christ to die so that we could live a life of unconditional love for all eternity.
So, here’s the question: How will your ego hold up in the light of eternity? (Hint: It won’t.)
